Councillor Nolene Raffills
Chair, Law and Order Committee
As a sitting Councillor for Avondale Roskill, I have lead new initiatives for the city to ensure that Auckland is a safe place for you to live, work and play. These included alcohol free zones, closed circuit television in the central areas, greatly enhanced graffiti removal and charging of offenders. Safety is one of the most important issues facing our city.
I have also opposed the extraordinary rates rises and the frivolous spending of your money, as well as the excessive regulation that the last Council has put in place. As part of the C&R team, I will continue to work for lower rates and sensible spending.
I love this area and I have lived here for 30 years, both in Mt Roskill and in Avondale. I have been involved in the community through numerous charitable and community initiatives.
Please vote the total C&R team.

I have passion for Auckland's progress. For 24 years I have been involved in local government as Mayor of Mt Roskill, City Councillor, Deputy Mayor and this term on the Auckland Regional Council.
Auckland has always been my home where I am proud to live with my wife Jeannie and our family. I am a J.P. and have served the community as president/chairman of the local Plunket, Kindergarten and Primary School.
I chaired the Aotea Centre Board for seven years opening its doors to the wider community and am Managing Director of a national housing and commercial property business.
I am keen to return to the Auckland City Council to utilise my practical experience, from a local government, community and business perspective. Integrity and honesty are very important to me and I seek your vote to continue my commitment to Auckland.

What are the main issues facing Mt Roskill? Gangs, traffic safety, SH20. Developing Keith Hay and Monte Cecelia parks and the Wesley Youth Centre.
What will you do when you are re-elected? Complete the cycleway network andsecure resources for our youth, while continuing to fight for your concerns.

MULRENNAN, Sue
Mt Roskill is a fabulous place. I grew up here and my husband and I have chosen to raise our family here. My children are privileged to attend excellent schools. The cultural diversity they live with is a glimpse of Auckland in the future.
My involvement in community groups within the area from Plunket to Toy Library and School Board to Parish Council has been invaluable to me and given me both skills and friends.
Mt Roskill has a rich and interesting history. The recent development of Monte Cecilia Park enriches the respect for our past. The 5 Kilometers of foreshore in our "borough" also has a rich if neglected past.
I would like to see our coastline given the same level of respect and investment as the Eastern bays.
I will be more effective if you support the total CITIZENS & RATEPAYERS team for Council and Community Board.
