WALLACE, Helen
I was elected to the Eastern Bays Community Board in 2004 and since then, have served as Deputy Chair. My Husband Grant and I have lived in St Heliers/Glendowie since 1973 and we have 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren. I support all efforts to ensure its development is appropriate and reflects community interests and priorities.
Some of the issues which concern me are these: The large rates rises of recent years, increasing traffic congestion on our local roads which were not built to cope with such volume, the way in which inorganic rubbish collections are managed and the proliferation of unsightly grafitti.
I favour a back to basics approach to local government which prioritises maintenance of roads, footpaths, stormwater and infrastructure, rather than grandiose projects paid for with excessive rates.
Please vote for the total Citizens & Ratepayers team.
